Drupal

So a few days ago I sat down and started messing with drupal again.   I took the rockford template from Gatehouse and drupalized it in little time.

I spent quite a bit of time awhile back griping about drupal and theming, but when someone else does the design work it's actually quite easy.

Like I said before,  I fail at design......

Now.. back to module developement - which wasn't too hard the first time I did it with drupal 5.

This week I plan to start working on a module to spit out more multi-user blog specific blocks; relying on as few non-standard modules as possible.

The base drupal blocks for the blog module are depressing,  they should add many many more to their arsenal.

One of these days, I need to break down and put out a OAS ( 24/7 Open Ad Stream Module ) .. doubt it would be used much,  but someone out there will need it.

In my free time I am also planning on writing some modules for the gaming community.   Most websites in the gaming community tend to use platforms like PHPNuke, PostNuke and Joomla.   From what i've seen from Drupal so far it seems so much better then those other platforms.

I plan on making a team module,  a match module,  and maybe even a game server status module.   If they are lucky,  I might even waste some time writing a "Challenge" module.

Now the question is:  Is drupal community ready for gamers?      They drive me insane,   maybe if I create a simple way for them to launch their own websites... they will stop bugging me to write custom ones for them.

A man can dream right?

out!
